Trigger Bias Rescaling
As a reminder, these were the bias distributions we got out of raw Pythia in Trigger Bias Redux:
After rescaling gg, qg, and qq contributions to charged pion production according to the prescription in MC Asymmetry Rescaling we get:
We drop MAX, MIN, and P* scenarios and get the following results for the trigger+reconstruction bias systematic
Calculating Systematic Uncertainty for pi-
[2.00 - 3.18] -0.0059 (value) +0.0027 (stats)
[3.18 - 4.56] -0.0083 (value) +0.0072 (value)
[4.56 - 6.32] -0.0093 (value) +0.0034 (value)
[6.32 - 8.80] -0.0072 (value) +0.0036 (stats)
[8.80 - 12.84] -0.0048 (value) +0.0057 (value)
Calculating Systematic Uncertainty for pi+
[2.00 - 3.18] -0.0061 (stats) +0.0061 (stats)
[3.18 - 4.56] -0.0128 (value) +0.0066 (value)
[4.56 - 6.32] -0.0176 (value) +0.0101 (value)
[6.32 - 8.80] -0.0209 (value) +0.0186 (value)
[8.80 - 12.84] -0.0152 (value) +0.0062 (value)
The changes in bias (compared to Trigger Bias Redux) are generally less significant than I thought they would be. I do still think that this new systematic is a better estimate of the bias, especially for pi-.
