Systematic Behavior of the Signal Extraction Systematics
Attached are the extraction results, residuals, and estimated systematic contributions for all ET bins in the cross section analysis (the behavior is the same for the asymmetry). The "Left", "Middle", and "Right" contributions are defined in a previous post regarding the systematics. "Low" refers to systematic excesses in the photon signal (and hence the lower systematic variation) and "High" refers to systematic deficits in the signal (likewise the high systematic variation).
Indeed the systematic contributions behave similarly across the ET bins, especially the "Middle" contribution. In the higher bins the "Left" and "Right" behavior deviates a bit, although this is expected as the residuals become consistent with statistical fluctuations alone and the systematic estimation becomes noisy.
