STAR Collaboration Meeting -- Spring 2015
(note: this blog entry posted few weeks after actual collaboration meeting)
Three talks given:
- Junior's Day Talk on recent FMS results
- FMS-RP correlations analysis update
- Relative Luminosity Systematics
=========================================================================
Notes on Relative Luminosity systematics discussion
no question about using rate-safe method.. use it
understand spin pattern correlation with scaler A_LL
two hints:
OOOOSSSS pattern has one sign scaler A_LL, SSSSOOOO has other sign
--> stephen asks does pi0 A_LL correlate with this separation?
removing n bXings after abort gaps causes the two peaks to merge and the
correlation of spin pattern and scaler A_LL to disapear around 5 bXings
scott says we need to finalise a systematic for run12 before talking about run
13, since run12 is a nice gaussian scaler A_LL
--> mean + mean uncertainty
--> mean + rms/sqrt(N) (should be the same as above)
--> overall mean + sigma (what I used for prelim A_LL)
compare ZDC A_N with cross-ratio method to that using ZDC rellum value
-- maybe we could even do this with the vpd
