HF-PWG minutes 2018/10/11
1) Ds production in Run16 - Chuan Fu
a. Slide 11: check the HFT matching efficiency for single tracks to see if the more steeply dropping behavior seen in 2016 can be explained
b. Slide 12: the Run14 data points are lower than Run16 data points by about 40% at low pT. Need to check efficiency corrections.
c. Talk with Nasim about how to move the paper forward
2) Update on D* analysis - Yuanjing Ji
a: slide 2: maybe try pt-dependent D0 mass cut range to minimize the background contribution while retaining a high efficiency
b. slide 4: apply mis-PID double counting correction to be consistent with Xiaolong's results. Check the origin of the large difference seen at 5-6 GeV/c in 60-80% centrality, given that the same dataset and cuts are used in the two analyses.
c. slide 8: check the discrepancies seen in several pt bins between 2014 and 2016
d. slide 12: currently, the D* signal significance is only 2sigma in 2016, while it is about 4-5sigma in 2014. Will try different NHitsFit, Dca cuts, etc to see if one can improve the signal significance.
3) picoDst production of Run15 pAu st_mtd data - Yanfang Liu
a. the proposal to bump up the priority of the Run15 st_mtd p+Au 200 GeV data is approved, and Petr will inform PAC about this change.
b. will discuss among conveners and PAC to see if the picoDst production can be speed up.
