BSMD Relative Gains Update 07/08
Please see this blog post for an introduction to the method.
After going strip by strip through crate 8, module 112 has been marked as poor (see this blog post) and module 116e has been marked as bad (see this blog post). Tables giving the eta and phi module status will be updated as I process additional modules. A module with all strips bad is marked bad; 100-149 bad strips is poor; 50-100 bad strips good; <50 bad strips excellent.
In addition to marking strips bad if they have bad status I have two further QA cuts. The first QAs the tail of the ADC distribution which could not be done when determining strip status fill-by-fill; if the integral from 50 to 1050 is less than 10 the strip is marked as bad. The second removes strips with extremely large pedestal RMSs which make it impossible to do a reasonable fit: I calculate the ratio of the integral from 100 to 150 to the integral from 50 to 100 and mark any strip with this ratio less than .015 as bad.
One final change has been made to the procedure outlined in the update of 6/28: if the pedestal RMS is greater than 11.5 the lower limit of xlow is increased to 7*RMS.
Attached is a summary pdf for crate 8.
