1) Embedding priorities
  • PWGC is tasked to decide on embedding priorities
  • Net-proton fluctuation measurements in BES-II collider and FXT have high priority
  • Other requests tied to conferences/papers? 
2) Analysis Meeting
  • Tentative dates: Jan 16 - 19 or Jan 17 - 19
  • Plans to have an ETOF analysis workshop also around same time. Tentatively Jan 15-16
3) Dataset restoration request
  • dAu39_production_2016 and dAu20_production_2016 in progress. Status here 
  • Request from Wlodek/LFSUPC to stage Run17 rp stream? Details?
4) Embedding updates
  • Test sample ready for 9.2 GeV. Need feedback from analyzers 
  • Efficiency with FLUKA for energy loss in embedding was evaluated. Difference is much smaller than ALICE. 4% efficiency loss for anti-protons below pT = 0.5 GeV/c. ~2% loss till ~1 GeV (SLIDES - Ashish). No impact for net-proton fluctuation measurements (SLIDES - Yige)
  • Test sample available with proton mass assumed in tracking. To investigate track splitting for heavier particles at central membrane
    Dataset here: /star/data14/GRID/NFS_FileList/production_7p3GeV_fixedTarget_2020_P23ie_protonTest_picodst.txt. Can LFSUPC/FCV/CF follow up?
5) Potential issue in data production? 
  • nsigma_e distributions in new production (SL23d) more deviated from Gaussian than order production (SL21c)
  • SLIDES from Wei Zhang
  • Any similar observation from other PWGs?

1) Paper preview: Correlation femtoscopy of identical pions in Au+Au collisions at √sNN = 3 GeV
     - Brief introduction from the PWG conveners (5’) [Hanna Zbroszczyk]
     - Paper proposal (15')  [Presentation by Anna Kraeva]
     - Open discussions (35')
     - Summary from the conveners' panel (5’)

2) CF Convener rotation
  • Nu Xu will take over from Toshihiro as the new CF co-convener 
3) Tracking uncertainty task force
  • The TF will prepare the codes and report + manual for general use 
  • Will release recommendations for 2019 dataset, but users will be able to optimize based on pT, eta or event/centrality selections
  • The TF will produce the trees with reconstructed kaons with KF particle. Users can then evaluate uncertainties for their analyses/datasets
  • Currently working to get updated values with the recent embedding tune for the 2019 data and getting code and report ready
4) Run22 p+p preview production
  • Mainly targeted for forward upgrade calibrations, st_fwd stream. Also request for st_physics from coldQCD
  • Any interests from other PWGs? 
  • Has space charge calibration, BTOW relative gains [Update from Gene]
5) Analysis Meeting - January
  • Will have the next analysis meeting in early/mid January (will be online)
  • January 15 - 19?
  • Format? Want to have reports or general call for analysis updates?  
6) QM Proceedings
  • Conference deadline - Dec 15, STAR internal deadline - Nov 24

1) Embedding Meetings
  • Will start regular embedding meetings - Qinghua Xu will organize 
  • Will also act as the platform for PAs and embedding helpers to present QA and feedback on embedding
  • List of embedding helpers (current?) - LIST
2) Tracking task force Meetings
  • Also will make the tracking task force meetings open to all
  • The TF will set up the software and prepare the write up to enable others in the collaboration to perform the uncertainty studies
  • Analyzers looking at different can update at this meeting 
3) Embedding test for GEISHA vs FLUKA
  • STAR GEANT3 is using GEISHA hadronic package. Incorrect parametrization for pbar -- A (and nbar -- A) and K- -- A  interactions
  • Can give incorrect absorption corrections, but effect expected to be small for STAR material budget. See SLIDES from Flemming
  • Test sample produced with FLUKA for 19.6 GeV:
    • FLUKA:  /star/data105/embedding/production_19GeV_2019/AntiProtonFluka_10*_20214206
    • GEISHA:  /star/data105/embedding/production_19GeV_2019/AntiProton_30*_20214206 
  • Can be important for net-p and other analyses, can CF/LFSUPC?FCV take a look?
  • Also plans to check for 14.5 GeV BES-I data from Run 14
4) Production priorities
  • Run23 priorities: production_AuAu_2023, production_AuAu_HalfField_2023, production_AuAu_ZeroField_2023
  • Interests for half field and zero field data?
  • Data streams? st_physics, st_forphoto, st_gamma, st_upc, st_upcjet, st_mtd
