| Abstract | : | The STAR TPC Gas System supplies either of two mixtures, P10 or 50% ethane in helium, to the STAR TPC at a controlled pressure. This sytem regulates the pressure and composition of the gas while monitoring gas temperature, oxygen and moisture. A computer control/data acquisition system collects and logs the gas system operating parameters while providing a means of remotely controlling system valving. A separate alarm and interlock system prevents the TPC from operating under unsafe conditions. |
