Run 12 Dijet Embedding -- Primary Track Phi vs. Eta
As part of the ongoing gamma-jet analysis, we are using the Run 12 Dijet embedding sample to ascertain the response of the TPC and BEMC in 200 GeV pp data. We have been comparing various track- and tower-level quantities to make sure that this sample accurately describes our data. Attached is a plot of the eta and phi of primary tracks passing the QA cuts described below.
The data (left hand side of the attached plot) are from L2Gamma pp events. The embedding sample (right hand side) consists of Pythia6 generated dijets embedded into zero-bias pp events. In both data and embedding, the tracks are required to pass these cuts:
- the no. of hits fit must be greater than 15,
- the ratio of the no. of hits fit to the no. of possible hits must be greater than 0.52,
- the global DCA must be less than 1 cm,
- and the track pseudorapidity must be between -1 and 1.
Update 10/12/2017: the 1d primary track eta and phi distributions have been added for comparison. Previously, this post stated that the tracks shown had to have a transverse momentum greater than 0.2 GeV/c; that was a typo, there is no momentum cut on the shown tracks.
