Minutes for HF PWG meeting on 2015/05/21
Upsilon spin alignment
- no theory at the moment (NRQCD predictions make sens only at high pT)
- data -results have sizable uncertainties, unlikely there are enough physics results for a stand-alone paper
- will be combined these results with J/psi polarization or Upsilon spectra in p+p 500 GeV results for a paper propail
dsmAdc issue:
- Barbara identified two bugs in the trigger simulator codes, solution (modifications to the trigger simulator code) provided in https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/blog/trzeciak/dsmadc-issue-trigger-simulator-solution
- for the data analysis at the moment: Barbara will use Adc0 for now and she will compare these results with analysis using dsmAdc when new, reproduced picoDsts are available.
- trigger simulator seems insensitive to online/offline database issue, however, offline database is out-of-data both on RCF and PDSF
- suggestions - dsmAdc should be checked in other analysis (different data sets, for instance p+p run 12)
HFT in p+Al run:
Summary of discussion at the meeting:
- from physics point of view, we are somehow interested in the c->e measurement in p+Al to study CNM effects for charm at intermediate pT (however, we do not have any feasibility study for such measurement). For such study, we would like to have HT Triggers. However, the measurements with HFT in p+Al is not crucial for the Heavy Flavor program
- HFT readout will not hurt di-muon trigger with MTD. On the other hand, HFT will help with photonic (conversion electrons) background rejection for analysis of the e-muon triggered data
